ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರೀಯ ಸಂಗೀತದ ಪಿತಾಮಹರಾದ ಪುರಂದರದಾಸರ ಸಾಧನೆಯನ್ನು ಕಂಡ ಸರ್ವರೂ ‘ದಾಸರೆಂದರೆ ಪುರಂದರದಾಸರಯ್ಯಾ..!’ ಎಂದು ಕೊಂಡಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇವರ ಎಲ್ಲ ಕೀರ್ತನೆಗಳೂ ಕನ್ನಡ ಭಾಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದು, ಭಕ್ತಿ ಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನು ಜನಸಾಮಾನ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಪರಿಚಯ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಡುವ ಉದ್ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿವೆ. ಹರಿಭಕ್ತಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಂಗೀತದಲ್ಲಿನ ಪಾಂಡಿತ್ಯ ಕನ್ನಡ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯದಲ್ಲೇ ವಿಶಿಷ್ಟವಾದ ಸ್ಥಾನವನ್ನು ಪಡೆದು ದಾಸ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯವನ್ನು ಶ್ರೀಮಂತವಾಗಿಸಿವೆ.
ದೇಶ ವಿದೇಶದ ದಾಸ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯಾಸಕ್ತರನ್ನು ಒಂದು ವೇದಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಂದು ಪುರಂದರ ದಾಸರ ಹಾಡುಗಳನ್ನು ನಮ್ಮ ಕಲಾವಿದರ ಸುಮಧುರವಾದ ಕಂಠದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೇಳುವ, ನೃತ್ಯ ನೋಡುವ, ನಾಟಕ ನೋಡುವ ಮತ್ತು ಅಂತರರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಖ್ಯಾತಿಯ ಡಾ. ಅರಳುಮಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಪಾರ್ಥಸಾರಥಿ ಅವರ ವಿಚಾರ ಕೇಳುವ ಒಂದು ಚಿಕ್ಕ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನ ಜಾಗತಿಕ ಪುರಂದರ ಉತ್ಸವದ ಉದ್ದೇಶ.

Purandara Dasa was a Composer-Performer, Musicologist, and the founder of Musical Pedagogy. Musicologists call him the Sangeeta Pitamaha of Carnatic music. Purandara Dasa tried to reform existing social practices and preached through devotional songs in the local Kannada language. Most of his Keertanas deal with social reform and pinpoint the defects in society. The philosophy of Purandara Dasa is harmonious with the concept of Bhakti in Hinduism.
The intent of the “Global Purandara Festival” is to bring worldwide artists to perform on the VIVIDLIPI platform; present Purandara Dasara songs in their melodious voice, with their vivid style of dance, theatrical show, the release of Dasara ebook & audiobooks and lecture by International Celebrity Dr. Aralumallige Parthasarathy.
